Joe Wright was born and raised in the northern Midwest in Lansing, MI. He grew up in an era when music was used as a medium between culture, class and race. His parents and older brothers listened to a variety of music that ended up being a huge influence in his own musical journey. His home echoed with the sounds of Jim Croce, The Beatles, The Carpenters, Jerry Reed, Waylon Jennings, Carole King, James Taylor, and many others.
Music has always been Joe's best friend. From around the age of five, all the way into his early twenties, Joe lived with a stuttering problem. It was most severe during his elementary school years, where at times he couldn't even say his own name when asked.
One thing he learned was that when he sang, he never stuttered. This led to being involved in a elementary school Patriotic assembly where he was asked to sing a solo. He hasn't stopped singing since!
Joe has been actively pursuing many musical interests over the last four years, including songwriting, recording a demo cd, forming the popular Lansing based band Fall Creek, and starting a mobile DJ company Muzic n' More.
More important than his music however is his faith and family. His favorite expression is "Preach Christ, and if you must, use words." Joe and wonderful wife Chris are active in their faith, have two great dogs Riley and Cooper, and love to spend time at Chris' family cottage in northern Michigan. And yes, you can bet the Joe has a guitar in his hand when they are all sitting around the bonfire.
