An introduction to Joe and his music
About Joe

Joe Wright was born and raised in the northern Midwest in Lansing, MI.  He grew up in an era when music was used as a medium between culture, class and race.  His parents and older brothers listened to a variety of music that ended up being a huge influence in his own musical journey.  His home echoed with the sounds of Jim Croce, The Beatles, The Carpenters, Jerry Reed, Waylon Jennings, Carole King, James Taylor, and many others.

Music has played an important role in Joe's life from an early age.  From around the age of five into his early twenties, Joe lived with a stuttering problem.  It was most severe during his elementary school years, where at times he couldn't even say his own name when asked.  He realized at the age of 7 that when he sang he didn't stutter (at that time he had no idea who Mel Tillis was either!).  That same year he was asked to sing a solo, "I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandee" in an elementary school Patriotic assembly.  He hasn't stopped singing since.

Joe has been actively pursuing many musical interests over the last four years, including songwriting, recording a demo cd, forming the popular Lansing based country music band Fall Creek, and starting a mobile DJ company Muzic n' More.

At the center of his musical journey are his faith and family.  His favorite expression is "Preach Christ, and if you must, use words."  Joe and his wonderful wife Chris are active in their faith (Joe is a member of the worship team at Trinity Church in Lansing), have two great dogs Riley and Cooper, and love to spend time at Chris' family cottage in northern Michigan.  And yes, you can bet the Joe has a guitar in his hand when they are hanging out on the dock, or sitting around the bonfire.
